Friday's Fancies :: Decked out for the Derby
Happy Friday everyone! At last the weekend is here. The weather here in New York has been crappy as hell- raining all week! I just checked the forecast and it's supposed to rain all weekend, too- which sucks because my friends and I were planning a picnic on Saturday! Silly us for not checking the weather :( Maybe next weekend!
Anyway, looks like it'll be a quiet weekend in. I think I'll catch up on some projects I've been neglecting. I've been working on colorblocking a pair of my wedges that I got from Target years ago. Here's an update on my progress:
I am working on another coat of blue paint, because I want them to be as bright as possible! I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of what the shoes looked like before. Oh well. The wedge was black before, you can use your imagination.
So, if it wasn't official already- I'm completely addicted to colored denim! I snagged a pair of purple pants the other day!
I'm linking up with {av} at {longdistanceloving} for this weeks Friday's Fancies theme is Decked out for the Derby. I thought this was such a cute idea-- I've always wanted to go to the Kentucky Derby just to be able to dress up and wear a fancy hat! Truth be told, this is not a very fancy hat. Where does one shop for such an extravagant hat?
Dress- Asos
Hat- Asos
Clutch- Barneys
Shoes- Nordstrom
And a special happy birthday to my wonderful mama! You're the best, I love ya! :)
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Thanks for reading :)

Friday's Fancies :: Picnic Primped
Happy Friday, everyone! I took the day off from work today to celebrate. It's my 3 year anniversary! Can't believe it! This weeks Friday's Fancies is Picnic Primped! I thought this idea was adorable and I loved putting together a picnic look!
I love this bright flowy skirt and these dutch-inspired stacked heels. I'm so happy Spring has started to peak its head out, I've been rocking open toed sandals and bare arms. I scored a couple of skirts, a spring jacket and a cute top at the thrift store today for under $20! I also got my first Birchbox in the mail this week! I definitely think it's something I'll continue receiving every month. I got some new nail polish strips- I'm really into these things! Here are a few pictures and Instagram shots from throughout my week. Are you on Instagram? Follow me! @omgthursday

Friday's Fancies :: Pretty in Pastels :: &Attention New Yorkers!
We're back again for Friday's Fancies with {av} at {long distance loving}.. this weeks theme is Pretty in Pastels! I will admit this was a challenge for me because color is still something I'm still not so comfortable with! I'm a neutrals kinda girl, but have been making a significant effort to incorporate more bright colors into my wardrobe.
7 For All Mankind Skinny Second Skin Legging in Neon Citron
Faster by Mark Fast Aldo Rise Cregger Heels
Ruche Pretty Pastel Floral Dress
7 For All Mankind Rayn Wedge
AK Vintage Necklace
I'm really looking forward to these upcoming weekends! Next week is Scott and I's three year anniversary! I can't believe it's already been 3 years. And May marks my two year anniversary of moving to New York! Crazy how time flies.
So this is a little random and probably strange but I'm dying to branch out a little more and meet some new people. Would any of you ladies in NYC be interested in brunch and a little shopping in the city sometime? I live near Queens and it's only a short train ride for me to venture into the city. Long Island tends to get a little boring at times (read: most of the time) and I can't say the people here are the friendliest (at least that I've encountered). Who knows! I'm just trying to broaden my horizons a bit and so many bloggers I follow are NYC locals that I'd love to meet! Or maybe I'm just being a creep. Anyway, let me know your thoughts.
I hope you all have a great weekend! Here are a couple snaps I took of my outfit today.

Friday's Fancies :: Spring Break Season
Happy, happy Friday! The weather has been perfect this week, and I'm hoping it will continue! I didn't even have to wear a jacket today! Linking up with {av} at {longdistanceloving} for Friday's Fancies! This weeks theme is Spring Break Season! I'm missing having time off for Spring Break, but maybe I'll just have to request a few days off to relax and enjoy this lovely weather!

Outfit 1: Dress, Scarf, Shoes
Outfit 2: Dress, Shoes
How cute is this little yellow dress? I'm actually really in love with both of these dresses. And especially those Jimmy Choo's! All the colors are beautiful.
I got a new shirt from Savannah Marie at Everybody's Buying Vintage! It's really great. The colors are so rich and if you know me, you know I love stripes. I wore it with black high-waisted pants from H&M. Here are a couple pictures I snapped:
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Friday's Fancies :: Tangerine Tango
Milly Adrienne printed silk-twill dress, Ray-Ban Folding Wayfarer sunglasses, Kenneth Jay Lane beaded resin necklace (similar), ALDO Mellison Printed Wedge T-Bar Sandals, Marc by Marc Jacobs Pavé Heart Ring, Diane von Furstenberg Harper Laurel color-block leather tote
Happy Friday everyone! I'm linking up with {av} at {longdistanceloving} for Friday's Fancies! Tangerine Tango has been named color of the year, and this is how I'd piece it into my wardrobe! This adorable dress has such a fun and interesting pattern. I'm also really obsessed with fringe and tassels lately, so I included this pretty necklace and DVF bag!
We've been getting a little taste of Spring here in New York! The weather is warming up bit by bit and before we know it the trees will be covered in green leaves and flowers will be blooming! It's luckily been a very mild winter, but I'm still a Floridian at heart and I can't take the cold for much longer!
This week I'm going to treat myself to a pedicure. I've been saving money by doing it myself the past few months, but since I'll soon be able to rock some sandals without 3 pairs of tights I think I deserve a real pedicure!
It's been somewhat of a stressful week and I'm very much looking forward to the weekend. I can't believe it's already March! This year is flying by. I can't wait to see what's in store for these upcoming months. Hope you all have a great weekend. xoxoxo
PS: I just purchased a gorgeous top from Savannah Marie at Everybody's Buying Vintage. She really has some amazing items in her shop!
This has been on repeat lately. It's such a fun song. I've always been a fan of Tegan and Sara. Enjoy <3

Friday's Fancies :: Hollywood Glam
Clockwise from left
| Issa Silk-Jersey Maxi Dress | Kate Spade Sun Stripe Floppy Hat | Miu Miu Headband | Max & Chloe Trina Turk Ocean Tonal Pendant Necklace | Marchesa Notte Strapless Ruffled Silk Cocktail Dress | Gucci Ophelie Two-Tone Open-Toe Pump |
It's finally Friday! I'm linking up with {av} at {long distance loving} for Friday's Fancies... this week's theme is Hollywood Glam! If I were to ever have the honor of attending the Oscars, I'd have a hard time deciding between this Issa Silk-Jersey Maxi Dress and this Marchesa Notte Strapless Ruffled Silk Cocktail Dress. These Gucci pumps are stunning, I love the gold chain t-strap and the gold trim on the heel!
The weather has finally began to *start* to warm up! Yesterday we hit 60° F! I am really ready for Spring, although I am thankful for the mild winter we've had here in New York. Have a great weekend!! I'll be hitting the books hard this weekend- projects, tests, and midterms galore! Cheers!
My aunt posted this on my Facebook page today, she said my Papa Bill loved this song. I love this song, too, and this man sings it with such soul. Enjoy.

Friday's Fancies :: Let's Fly Away to Amsterdam
This week we're linking up with {av} at {long distance loving} for Friday's Fancies. This week the theme is Let's Fly Away. We picked our dream travel destination and what we would wear while visiting!
(1) Date with Destiny Dress (2) Seaside Loft Pleated Dress (3) Love and Lace Button-Back Top (4) Sonia by Sonia Rykiel Striped Skirt (5) Lacoste Colette Bike (6) Charlotte Russe 3-Strap Sueded Heel Bootie (7) Alexander Wang Diego Bucket Bag (8) T by Alexander Wang Viscose Color Block Cardigan
Scott and I went to Amsterdam last year and it was just perfect. I've been especially nostalgic lately in wanting to visit again. I loved biking everywhere and visiting the coffee shops. The Red Light District was pretty depressing so I think I'll steer clear of that next time, but otherwise I found Amsterdam to be such a happy place. The architecture and the demeanor of the city was just so quaint and lovely.
Believe it or not, I wore a lot of skirts and dresses while biking through the city, as it's rather common among the women. I'll be honest, I did not have great luck my first run on the bike in a long maxi dress, but survived somehow. It's very intense riding among all the bike and car traffic, but after we got used to it, it was a piece of cake!
My boyfriend just showed me this video and I am in ABSOLUTE SHOCK, like jaw-dropping. In memory of Whitney Houston, this kid is fucking amazing! It sounds exactly like her! RIP Whitney

Friday's Fancies :: Good Day Sunshine
It snowed a little bit last night and there was a layer of frost atop everything throughout the day. The sun was bright and shiny all day, I'm glad it's starting to stay lighter out later in the day. I hated coming out of work to darkness at 5o'clock!
This is how I interpret the pink & red trend for the upcoming holiday. I haven't been a fan of pink so much in the past, but I think I may give it another chance. I also love these red lace gloves, so sultry! If I had the funds and somewhere extra fancy to go, I would wear this gorgeous Valentino gown on Valentine's Day. I want this Proenza Schouler leather satchel!
1. Duffy Striped Cashmere Sweater
2. Pink Skinny Jeans
3. Proenza Schouler Leather Satchel
4. Count on V top
5. Red skinny corduroys
6. Pink blazer
7. Red lace gloves
8. Colorblock wedge platforms
9. Valentino ball gown
Until we meet again! Have a great weekend.
