Friday's Fancies :: Decked out for the Derby

Happy Friday everyone! At last the weekend is here. The weather here in New York has been crappy as hell- raining all week! I just checked the forecast and it's supposed to rain all weekend, too- which sucks because my friends and I were planning a picnic on Saturday! Silly us for not checking the weather :( Maybe next weekend!

Anyway, looks like it'll be a quiet weekend in. I think I'll catch up on some projects I've been neglecting. I've been working on colorblocking a pair of my wedges that I got from Target years ago. Here's an update on my progress:

I am working on another coat of blue paint, because I want them to be as bright as possible! I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of what the shoes looked like before. Oh well. The wedge was black before, you can use your imagination.

So, if it wasn't official already- I'm completely addicted to colored denim! I snagged a pair of purple pants the other day!

I'm linking up with {av} at {longdistanceloving} for this weeks Friday's Fancies theme is Decked out for the Derby. I thought this was such a cute idea-- I've always wanted to go to the Kentucky Derby just to be able to dress up and wear a fancy hat! Truth be told, this is not a very fancy hat. Where does one shop for such an extravagant hat?

And a special happy birthday to my wonderful mama! You're the best, I love ya! :)

Friday's Fancies :: Tangerine Tango

Friday's Fancies :: Tangerine Tango

Happy Friday everyone! I'm linking up with {av} at {longdistanceloving} for Friday's Fancies! Tangerine Tango has been named color of the year, and this is how I'd piece it into my wardrobe! This adorable dress has such a fun and interesting pattern. I'm also really obsessed with fringe and tassels lately, so I included this pretty necklace and DVF bag!

We've been getting a little taste of Spring here in New York! The weather is warming up bit by bit and before we know it the trees will be covered in green leaves and flowers will be blooming! It's luckily been a very mild winter, but I'm still a Floridian at heart and I can't take the cold for much longer!

This week I'm going to treat myself to a pedicure. I've been saving money by doing it myself the past few months, but since I'll soon be able to rock some sandals without 3 pairs of tights I think I deserve a real pedicure!

It's been somewhat of a stressful week and I'm very much looking forward to the weekend. I can't believe it's already March! This year is flying by. I can't wait to see what's in store for these upcoming months. Hope you all have a great weekend. xoxoxo

PS: I just purchased a gorgeous top from Savannah Marie at Everybody's Buying Vintage. She really has some amazing items in her shop!

This has been on repeat lately. It's such a fun song. I've always been a fan of Tegan and Sara. Enjoy <3

Friday's Fancies :: Let's Fly Away to Amsterdam

This week we're linking up with {av} at {long distance loving} for Friday's Fancies. This week the theme is Let's Fly Away. We picked our dream travel destination and what we would wear while visiting!
Let's Fly Away: Amsterdam
(1) Date with Destiny Dress (2) Seaside Loft Pleated Dress (3) Love and Lace Button-Back Top (4) Sonia by Sonia Rykiel Striped Skirt (5) Lacoste Colette Bike (6) Charlotte Russe 3-Strap Sueded Heel Bootie (7) Alexander Wang Diego Bucket Bag (8) T by Alexander Wang Viscose Color Block Cardigan

Scott and I went to Amsterdam last year and it was just perfect. I've been especially nostalgic lately in wanting to visit again. I loved biking everywhere and visiting the coffee shops. The Red Light District was pretty depressing so I think I'll steer clear of that next time, but otherwise I found Amsterdam to be such a happy place. The architecture and the demeanor of the city was just so quaint and lovely.
Believe it or not, I wore a lot of skirts and dresses while biking through the city, as it's rather common among the women. I'll be honest, I did not have great luck my first run on the bike in a long maxi dress, but survived somehow. It's very intense riding among all the bike and car traffic, but after we got used to it, it was a piece of cake!

My boyfriend just showed me this video and I am in ABSOLUTE SHOCK, like jaw-dropping. In memory of Whitney Houston, this kid is fucking amazing! It sounds exactly like her! RIP Whitney

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend! xx

Friday's Fancies :: Good Day Sunshine

It snowed a little bit last night and there was a layer of frost atop everything throughout the day. The sun was bright and shiny all day, I'm glad it's starting to stay lighter out later in the day. I hated coming out of work to darkness at 5o'clock!

This is how I interpret the pink & red trend for the upcoming holiday. I haven't been a fan of pink so much in the past, but I think I may give it another chance. I also love these red lace gloves, so sultry! If I had the funds and somewhere extra fancy to go, I would wear this gorgeous Valentino gown on Valentine's Day. I want this Proenza Schouler leather satchel!

I just joined {av} at {Long Distance Loving} for Friday's Fancies! This is my first Friday's Fancies and I think I will be joining in weekly for Friday posts with a theme! This weeks theme is...you guessed it! Pink & Red! Enjoy!
Red & Pink

1. Duffy Striped Cashmere Sweater
2. Pink Skinny Jeans
3. Proenza Schouler Leather Satchel
4. Count on V top
5. Red skinny corduroys
6. Pink blazer
7. Red lace gloves
8. Colorblock wedge platforms
9. Valentino ball gown

Until we meet again! Have a great weekend.
