Work It Wednesday No. 8 and a DIY

Hey Everyone! I'm back for Work It Wednesday with Laura @ A Little Bit of Lacquer. I apologize for being absent the past few weeks, things got a little crazy around here! From sickness to life stresses, we've been through the ringer over here. Anyway, I'm back in full swing and ready to smother my blog with love!

Alexander McQueen Embroidered Tank
Nonoo Mariella Silk Pleated Maxi Skirt (similar cheaper version)
Elegantly Waisted Hippie Suede Fringe Belt
Solestruck Makito Lilo Perforated Loafer
Burberry Prorsum Woven Raffia-Effect and Leather Bag

Work it Wednesday No. 8

I also wanted to share a recent little project I took on. So, you know the Christian Louboutin Altipump? Well, I've been obsessing over them for months and since I absolutely cannot afford Louboutins, I ventured out on a journey to make myself a pair of spiked pumps. I did my own spin on the Altipump. I ordered a beginners studding kit from Studs & Spikes and took an old pair of black pumps from Target and started stabbing holes into my shoes blindly. WARNING! Don't do this. It took me awhile to fix my crooked studs. Trust me, you don't want crooked studs! After a bit of trial and error, I came out with these bad boys!

If you have any other questions, let me know! I used the tools included in the beginners studding kit and a pair of needle nose pliers. I'm happy to be back to my little blog. I promise I won't leave you again (for awhile, at least :)!
Have a great week everyone!

NEON!!!

Happy Thursday!

| Shirt & Scarf: H&M | Pleated Maxi Skirt: Old Navy | Coat: Miss Sixty (gift) | Boots: Stuart Weitzman | Necklace: Sears (similar) | Sunglasses: Dolce & Gabbana (old) | Bag: Big Buddah (c/o TJ Maxx, white version here)
Jewelry | Earrings: Gift | Rings: Crown ring (similar), Bear ring (Etsy), Silver ring (Etsy) | Cuffs: Asos (similar) |

This was my first official I WANT THESE SHOES photo shoot! My friend Adam was kind enough to come out and capture some pictures of me in my new green skirt! If you're looking for a skirt similar to this, I would go snatch it up now! Old Navy has this on sale for $10! I definitely couldn't pass it up. And can I mention that I'm really loving the green and gold combo?

Okay, I won't leave out the hilarious picture. The wind was going crazy! It was perfect for capturing the movement of this skirt. I felt very Marilyn trying to keep the skirt tame in the wind.

I hope you all have a great day, the weekend is so close! I can't wait! I just recently discovered this song, I really like it. The sounds are really interesting and it's just a funky song in general. I love Kimbra's voice. Enjoy!

Quick

I just had to stop by to rave about my new lime green mini dress I ordered from Savannah Marie at Everybody's Buying Vintage. I apologize for the not so great picture, but this is the best I could do at the time:

I was a little hesitant to wear this to work at first, because this dress is rather short; although I love short dresses, it's not so appropriate for the office. I couldn't resist the urge to wear my new threads today, so I threw on my oversized 99¢ Chinese eBay trench to cover up my backside. I also had to throw in my favorite gold cuffs from Asos (similar here and here) to tie into the gold buttons. For some reason, I have an obsession lately with gold buttons and I just want more and more! I must be going through a lime green phase also, because thanks to A Lacey Perspective I just bought this green pleated maxi from Old Navy (for less than $10!!). I had been looking for an affordable pleated maxi skirt for awhile and I'm so glad she posted about this one!

Make sure to check out EBV's active auctions, there are some really great and unique pieces for very affordable prices. Market Publique is also a great platform for selling, because they have bidding styled like eBay and it makes for great buying and selling!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for my Friday's Fancies! This weeks theme is: Let's Fly Away!

Until tomorrow! xx

PS: Have you heard this new song by Nicki Minaj? I'm obsessed. If you haven't heard it... well... You're welcome!! :)

Mix & match! Neons, prints and pastels

MIX&MATCH

Similar mint green top, H&M neon yellow blazer, Asos Hoola Suede Platform, Tibi pleated maxi, Loeffler Randall lace up heels, Reiss Romeo handbag, similiar Alexander Wang bucket bag, similiar black bustier, houndstooth pants

I love mint green and pink. The colors are so vintage and cute.
Houndstooth is also one of my favorite prints and I've been seeing it everywhere recently!
I'm still experimenting mixing colors and prints, but I'm trying! I'm mostly a neutrals kinda girl, but I'm working on incorporating some new bright pieces this Spring.

xx
